The interview process consisted of a single interview with three individuals. The atmosphere felt more exploratory, focusing on my interests and goals, though it gave the impression that details about the role were being withheld. During the conversation, I discovered the position was actually a combination of two distinct roles (Translation Department Manager and Sales Manager with a strong emphasis on sales), offered at a salary below market rate for either.
Drawing on my extensive experience in marketing and translation, I proposed data-driven strategies to evaluate the company’s current market position, client perception, and competitive landscape to develop a comprehensive marketing plan. This plan aimed to identify and retain clients effectively. However, a senior interviewer dismissed my input, suggesting the role's primary function was simply compiling a list of potential clients for the sales team.
This interaction made it clear that my methodical and strategic approach would not align with the company’s expectations. I value structured methodologies over guesswork and was certain this environment would not be a good fit for my expertise. As I was not invited for a second interview, I believe the feeling was mutual.
