Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Cisco (San Francisco, CA) en jun 2018

      Entrevista

A Cisco recruiter contacted me regarding two positions. I accepted the interview for one position. The initial meeting with the manager went well. She tasked me with meeting with 3 gentlemen at the company. The first two meetings went phenomenally, I really appreciated the conversation I had with those employees. The final conversation was absolutely terrible. The gentlemen I was tasked with meeting with was unresponsive most of the time. He only agreed to meet with me on the last day of the deadline given to him and I by the interviewing manager provided. It was apparent that he didn’t want to meet with me. He greeted me with the incorrect name. Keep in mind this is after sending him multiple e-mails and voicemails. The first 2- minutes of our conversation was completely about him, which seemed odd because I was under the impression that I was being interviewed. He proceeded to tell me how he was known for closing big deals, and that he was known for having cool shirts and being a collector. He began the actual interview by attacking my current company and making outlandish claims about the industry that were incorrect. I suppose my current title of Account Executive in my company made him feel insecure. Because he pretended like he didn't know what an AE was, the he began condescending stating, "Why did they pick you for the position? What makes you so special?" After I corrected him on some of his incorrect claims. He then requested that I learn Cisco’s entire portfolio and come back to him in two days. This was absolutely the most disrespectful interview process that I have ever had. Not once throughout the single interview process did he ask any specifics around my previous experience. Quota carried? Account size? Absolutely, nothing of substance that you would expect in such an interview. I was then told that I would not be getting this position, because of resume details that were on my resume eve n before the first interview. I would not suggest interviewing for this position unless you are currently unemployed. Glassdoor doesn't allow to mention specific names, but I will give you a few hints. The position has a very new manager with just about 8 months of tenure. There is something really odd about this team. Following my interview, I noticed that I had a few views on my LinkedIn profile by a few Cisco employees on the same team. I don't want to speculate, but I would assume that he went back to the office to continue bragging about how he "dominated" the interview. I've worked for 2 of the 3 largest companies in the world. I've covered some of the biggest customers in those organizations. I've networked up to the CEO in one of the companies and through the executive suite. However, I have never.... ever.. encountered the amount of ego that was present during this interview process with the exception of the other two gentlemen that I interviewed with.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I’m sorry to hear about your experience during the interview process. I’m a Sales Recruiter here at Cisco and to receive this feedback is very disappointing. The candidate experience is of the utmost importance to us and we strive to make it a positive experience. It sounds like we missed the mark. Your review has been shared with our Talent Acquisition Leaders and the Recruiters on my team. We’ll use this as an opportunity to evaluate our processes and educate our Hiring Manager(s) on proper interview etiquette. We will to do better. It sounds like you’re a great candidate and I hope you will consider other Cisco opportunities in the future.
