The process began with a technical assessment that took me ~6 hours to complete. I was given 3 days to submit it, and turned it in less than 24 hours after receipt with high confidence in my answers. Then came the full interview process... 6 total rounds (recruiter > hiring manager > three panelists with what felt like overlapping scope > senior director). From start to finish, the interview process took about 5 weeks, with 6 interviews each lasting 30 minutes. I felt really good after each of the interviews, and finished strong with the final interview. Of course, after 5 weeks of clearing my schedule and prepping for 6 interviews, in addition to submitting an assessment that took 6 hours, I received a generic rejection email less than 24 hours after the final interview. No feedback, no reasoning, just "the team has decided not to move forward at this time." I've been through many interviews that turned out like this, and for the most part, I've been resilient. But this one struck a different nerve. It required very specific experience that I had, and every round left me more confident this was the right next step. A generic rejection less than 24 hours after the final interview was deflating enough; however, watching the same role get reposted two days later (still live as I write this) makes the whole process feel like it was never genuine.
