Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Chubb en may 2026

      Entrevista

Did an initial phone interview with a recruiter (who was located out of state). The call itself went well overall. The call took place on a Monday, & somewhere near the end, he asked me what my schedule was like for the rest of that week (so that he could set up an interview once he speaks with the reps at the actual Chubb location here in my area). Well, at THAT TIME, my schedule was fairly open, but any idiot knows that things can change with a person’s schedule day to day when that person is UNEMPLOYED, as that person is often submitting SEVERAL applications a day & sometimes a company they applied with DAYS (or WEEKS) prior may pop up on any given day wishing to schedule them for an interview. Anyhow, this recruiter reaches back out via this robotic email TWO DAYS LATER, saying (in part) "This email confirms your in-person interview with Chubb to discuss a ********* opportunity on Thursday, ********* beginning at the times indicated below with the following individuals. Please respond and confirm this day and times works with your schedule.".... Mind you, this would be an IN-PERSON interview, the building is not exactly right around the corner from where I live, "2 days later" (from Monday) means he sent this email on a Wednesday, and the in-person interview would be that very next day (Thursday)... So essentially, rather than do what most professional recruiters/hiring managers generally do (by giving the person a SERIES of days/times they are available & allowing THAT person to pick a day/time that works for THEM), he took it upon himself to pick ONE time on ONE day (on MY behalf) without ANY consideration of the fact that my schedule for that day (again, as someone who is ACTIVELY seeking employment) just might have changed since the last time we spoke... Maybe he expected me to just be sitting around twiddling my thumbs for several days while he spoke with his contacts at the office here, but WHO DOES THAT??? If anything, he should have set everything up during that initial call OR (at the very least) reached back out later that same day (by PHONE) before anything else happened to come up that would directly affect my ability during the time HE assumed would work (smh)... Anyhow, by the time he reached back out with this weird email, I already had two BACKTOBACK interviews scheduled for that day/during that same time of the day, & with the way things were going in this flaky/EXTREMELY competitive job market, I wasn't about to cancel TWO interviews just to accommodate ONE (with a company that is nowhere close to the part of town I'd be coming from at the conclusion of interview #1 OR beginning of interview #2 [especially with such late notice])... For this reason, I advised him that I had other commitments that time of day, & I then advised him I could do A. any time before or after the time I had blocked out (on that same day), B. any time on the NEXT day (which was a Friday) or the following week (any time Tuesday-Friday as that next Monday was a holiday). In other words, the ONE time of day you presented doesn't work for me, but I'm flexible enough to come in at any other time that same day (despite the fact that you're not even giving me 24 hours’ notice at this point), OR the day after, OR the following week... Essentially, I was being the bigger person by being flexible & making myself available, yet you wanna hear his emailed response (11 minutes later)??? "I will cancel the interview tomorrow and be in touch as to when and if the team can reschedule due to limited availability the next few weeks". From there, I responded with a short email thanking him for his help (secretly annoyed by his seemingly passive aggressive demeanor), & that was the last time I heard from him. Having said all of that, I want people to understand that sometimes life will give us different "signs" to steer us in the right direction (including but not limited to "Red flags"), & I saw his behavior as a HUGE “red flag” because if this man (who presumably represents this comany) is THIS unprofessional with regard to something as simple as scheduling an interview, then that speaks volumes not only about him but ALSO about the company itself, & I likely dodged a bullet. So yeah, at first, it sounded like a great opportunity, but at this point in my life, I don't need to deal with that level of passive aggressiveness especially when I'm already having enough challenges just trying to survive through this process. I withdrew my application from consideration & filed a complaint with the Chubbs ethics department, because what a piece of work you guys hired as your "recruiter" smh. THANKS BUT NO THANKS/NEVER AGAIN, and best of luck to all of those folks who have the patience to deal with people like this
