The process was lengthened due to summer vacations and principal's availability. The hiring manager I spoke to was very enagaged in the process and was genuinely interested in coming to agreeable terms regarding employment. It seemed that he recognized and valued my potential, however, the owner was difficult to sway - from both a salary perspective as well as skills and capabilities. Overall, I found the level of scruntiny from the principal a intense and the negotiation process inflexible.
