I had a screen with a Talent Sourcer. Then I spoke with an Assistant Director. And then with the Director. Those all went well and I received the "thumbs up" to move forward in to their "loop" as they call it. Chewy has clearly adopted and mimics many of the hiring practices that Amazon uses, from the Operating Principles to the nature of the Loop (panel-like, yet individual interviews about 1 hour each for 4-5 intense hours). Everyone I met with was fairly new to the organization. The eldest had been with the company about 18 months, and the majority of folks had been with the company anywhere from 2 weeks to max 2 months. Some folks seemed authentic and genuine and others came off as being extremely inauthentic, and flat out fake. Ultimately it was decided that I was not a pick/fit, concern for ramp-up, lack of personality fit and simply not answering questions as they (liked) expected. Perhaps a terribly bad day on my end. Not my best showing. You may think you are jiving with an interviewer in the loop, when come to find out, they tanked you in the debrief/debate convo. Some personalities are inflated in regards to their importance. Those same folks did not ask clear questions and spoke in their own acronyms, and expected I would know what they were speaking of. Debrief should not address their thoughts on lack of my intelligence. Very disappointing. Young company with a bit of imposter syndrome.
