The interview process is extremely rigorous. It's typically a 3 hour interview, so be prepared to stay that long if you are serious about working at this school. The first hour is filling out a long Q&A packet about such things as lesson plans, ability to assess students, write report cards, personal values, etc. The second hour is with a panel of up to three people. If they like you, the third hour will most likely be a tour of the school.

One of the most difficult parts of the packet is that they give you a topic and you have to come up with a mock lesson plan that teaches the topic. You also need to be able to give examples of ways that you can integrate the topic into other subject areas. So make sure you know how to write up a kick-butt lesson plan (remember the SEI templates? Use one of those!). Don't forget about ELL students - that is a very trending topic!

Just not for me, could be the best fit for someone looking for rigid structure and sameness. No judgement if that works for you, but I’m too fluid for this school
