      Entrevista

      Mike reached out to me for a 30 minutes initial phone screening and then the next week set me up with an in person interview. I met with 3 managers back to back to back and all of them were super friendly and professional. I thought I would have to wait a few days but I got a call later that night saying that I am getting an offer. Overall the process was quick and efficient and I am super excited to start my journey at CarGurus!

      Entrevista

      Applied online for a Sales Development Role, got a call from in-house recruiter who recommended applying for the Dealer Relations role given my experience. Call with Hiring Manager (30mins) was fairly straight forward. Successful and invited for an interview. Interview is with 4 separate people (4x30min slots) All interviewers ask same set of questions just in different ways and ask you to elaborate more. Everybody I spoke to was very pleasant and all in all I felt the interview went well. 1 bad point is they seem to put alot of emphasis on why you want to leave your current role (people want to leave jobs because they dont like them or view the job they are applying for as a better opportunity, this is fairly obvious and in this day and age is not a question that should be probed as heavily as it was here) Whole process was very fast and efficient. Got a call from a 3rd party recruiter the next day and was told with very little context that I was unsuccessful. This recruiter kept changing story as to why I was unsuccessful.1st of all I was a very strong candidate but there were stronger on the day. Then my current role(that I am not in long) was too different to what they were looking for (which I knew and pointed out my experience lay not within that role but with the role previously held for over 3 years and had discussed this at length during the interview) they then proceeded to make a remark about how culturally my previous employer differed alot from this Company and in the past there had been problems with staff settling in(there are a very small number of people who worked at my previous job who would be qualified to even interview for this role so that is complete nonsense) I then asked since I was a strong candidate should I keep my eye on the company and apply again if it expands further and was told recruiter was unsure so again no clarity at all. In summary the interview process was fine the people were all polite and very nice apart from the emphasis on why I wanted to leave my current role (felt this was unnecessary) that whole aspect was good. Having somebody who has had nothing to do with any step of the process so far call you to tell you were unsuccessful and not having any definitive answers or feedback to give you and making up answers to questions over the phone is a very poor ending to what was largely a positive experience

      Entrevista

      This was by far the clearest interview process I have ever had. I did one phone interview with the recruiter, a video interview with the Director of the department, closing with an in person interview with 4 managers. I received a job offer 2 hours after my in person interview. Everyone was very upfront and honest about the position as well as the company.
