      Entrevista

Was shortlisted for an interview in Singapore. Everything was pleasant enough with very quick communication and scheduling at first, even though they had to last minutely change the time of the interview, and this was on a weekday where I had to get permission from my manager at the time to go. Interview process was very thorough and conducted first in Japanese and then in English. There were two interviewers who were there in person, and one interviewer on video call as he was overseas. The director went through every item in my resume, down to my high school education, and I'm not a fresh graduate, but someone with over a decade of work experience. This was still fine. The two interviewers who were there in person were pleasant and careful and answered a lot of my questions too. However, the interviewer who was on video call left abruptly without a word and no one mentioned or acknowledged it. It was surprising and a little bit rude. The rest of the interview was conducted without him. After that I was told by the recruiter and the directors that they will let me know the results in a week. I did not receive any updates, and I even followed up with the recruiter who said she will update me if there was anything. I was ghosted then after that and only found out that the role was filled because an ex-colleague of mine who they decided to hire instead told me. It would have been fine if they did not set up the expectations for an update. They also had me send translation samples I did as a hobby. They also tried to ask for my professional translation samples but I could not share those as they were confidential. Overall, I learned a lot from this experience and I wish them good luck, but I hope they remember to follow up on their promises. I understand that they are a small team and are very busy, but I hope that they remember that gaming both as an industry and as customers is built on a community and relationships.
