Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en CapTech (Arlington, VA) en abr 2022

      Entrevista

Not sure when I applied but the recruiter followed up for the interview in early April. The interview process started with an initial phone conversation with a recruiter involving a discussion about past experience and projects. A technical interview session was set up after four days of the initial interview with the recruiter. The technical interview lasted for nearly two hours involving two behavioral and one technical interview with different Captech team members. I don't know why they focus a lot on behavioral questions rather than technical questions for a technical position. I could sense the culture of the company to please clients rather than prioritize employees during the interview process. Some of the behavioral questions sounded very non-sense to me like, "what would you do in a situation if you are placed in a boring project rather than an interesting project that you would want to work on", and "have you had any conflict with co-workers" blah blah... These questions were asked during the second behavior interview where the interviewer seemed to have brought the question right away from google. Also, the interviewers were rushing very much to complete their round of interviews and were not willing to spend extra time answering questions that I had. Though I felt the interview went well it didn't end up in an offer. To be honest, I was interviewing multiple other companies and Captech wasn't my choice even if I would have received offers. The reason for not extending an offer to me given by Captech was "they were looking for someone with more consulting experience". This sounded incoherent and nonsense to me as my resume mentioned I worked full time for 10 years of my career as a software engineer, not as a consultant. Had they looked into my resume clearly they would have found that early without wasting their time and effort, which for me was just another interview practice. I ended up in a much better position, company, and compensation which I think Captech wouldn't have been able to offer me anyways. The only positive experience for me was like other reviews mentioned their interview process is very fast and prompt. PS: A few days after completing my interview I found out from my friend one of his acquaintances was already working at Captech and he also works on weekends most of the time so thank you God for saving me from this place.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

How do you prove to the client that you are technically competent? Explain a situation when you had a conflict with co-workers? What would you do in a situation if you are placed in a boring project rather than an interesting project that you would want to work on? (To be honest, this question was a red flag to me about company culture )

Thank you for providing your experience interviewing with CapTech. We truly appreciate your feedback and we are sorry to hear that it did not result in an offer. At CapTech, we look to assess both technical skills and core values alignment along with consulting acumen if someone does not have consulting experience. We definitely do not want to waste anyone’s time. We wish you the best of luck and please keep us in mind for future opportunities. Do not hesitate to reach out with additional feedback – Dan Gaspari, Talent Acquisition Director (dgaspari@captechconsulting.com).
