Waste of time, at times questionable of legally permissable (data privacy), ludicrously long and lacking of transparency process, and general lack of respect for candidates. This was a very odd experience with several stages in what they call an 'early stage' with a few more to come which then should have formed 'late stage' interviews. Throughout the exercises and interviews I felt like giving everything and in fact way more than what employers could be collecting as applicant data (private history writeup: school years, upbringing, studies, hobbies etc, IQ test, psychographic/behavioural test, etc.). The process felt like an investigation and at points had to look up online if it was a legitimate business and not just some scam using the Canonical name. Meanwhile, the interviews to follow with various people were also odd. While the interviewers were friendly and generally kind, none of them knew what the role I applied for was or what sort of work it would entail. So all the things I could get to understand from them were very general. I was basically sharing my personal life story and getting nothing in return. That didn't discourage me, though, as I thought I'll just figure out more details in later stages. However, after a few days of radio silence, I received a generic email about them proceeding with other candidates. Mind you, this is after several weeks and hours of written exercises, online tests, and several video interviews (all sounds like a scam now that I write about it). Typically, you'd expect to get to know your hiring manager and the team in that many hours, but here I didn't even get to talk to anyone who would effectively manage the role or work alongside it. Wouldn't recommend anyone to apply or go through messy and disrespectful process. Interviewees are ultimately quizzed to the bone and get nothing in return (information wise at least). Not even a single feedback note of reasons for being rejected. Appaling candidate experience.
