      Solicitud

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Callibrity (Chicago, IL) en feb 2022

      Entrevista

Consisted of three rounds: 1. Online HackerRank coding challenge with two easy problems. 2. HackerRank live coding challenge with two senior devs from Callibrity. 3. Video call with two members of leadership. Be prepared to answer both HR and technical questions. Everyone was nice and very relaxed. Coding challenges are very realistic and give you plenty of time. The recruiter was SUPER responsive.

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Callibrity (Cincinnati, OH) en ago 2019

      Entrevista

The interview process consisted of one phone interview, one solo technical problem challenge, one pair programming challenge with one of their developers, and finally an in-person interview. The phone interview was the first step in the process. This covered general questions of what I was looking for, how Callibrity might fit into that, and any other questions I might have for him. Pretty standard stuff. The technical problems consisted of standard programming challenges. Normal loops and logic of programming. Anyone with any experience of programming should have been able to solve that. The pair programming challenge was a pretty terrible experience. The interviewer bragged about how many people they've interviewed with the same question. Many times I told him I was going back to reread the question but he disregarded it and started suggesting fixes. He definitely had a chip on his shoulder and I felt like I was just another candidate someone forced him to interview. Despite the challenge of working with a very difficult personality, the problem was solved and all test cases passed. Finally, there was the in-person interview. This consisted of talking with their recruiter and then a second meeting with their HR head and one of the CEOs of the company. Questions consisted of where you see yourself in five years, why you're interested in the company, and general HR-style questions. They do ask you a question that threw me for a loop: "In five words how would prior employers describe you?". Putting a restriction of five words on that just threw me off balance for some reason. So don't make my mistake and be ready for that. There was also a clear miscommunication between the company recruiter's listing and what the CEO was looking for. The ad was for a .NET Core position with some experience in React and other front end technologies. However, during the in-person interview the CEO cared very little about the .NET experience and was only concerned about the front-end experience. Callibrity needs to ensure their job postings match what they actually need. The process took about a month from the time of application to the final interview. It was unnecessarily long and I honestly don't know how they can find employees when they run things like this. They're a tiny company in Cincinnati - not Google. The recruiter I worked with was very friendly and nice but you need to be prepared for extremely long waits between responses. He told me I'd get an update on Tuesday but I heard nothing. I checked in on Wednesday and received no response. Finally, I get a response on Friday. As a candidate, this makes Callibrity look quite unprofessional. They have a responsibility to provide timely updates to their candidates, even if it's a simple "We need more time to discuss". There's also the issue of pay. They will ask you for a number you're looking for in the phone interview. However, by the time I made it to the last stage my pay had dropped to a range I was making after having one year's experience. They put you through all of this and make you a below-market offer. It was quite insulting, truth be told. I ultimately didn't receive an offer despite making it to the end of the process. It's disappointing, but life goes on. I feel as if I've probably dodged a bullet if the interview process is indicative of how the company is run. I don't hold any ill will towards them, but any future candidates need to be aware of what they're getting themselves into. I hope this review will help in that regard.

      Implement the Fibonnaci sequence.

      Pregunta 2

Manipulate an array and get specific values out. I forget the specific question, but someone with programming experience should be able to figure it out.

Thank you for taking the time to provide meaningful and honest feedback. Since we are a consulting firm, we grow based on our client needs, we ultimately hire people to join our Callibrity team and not just to fill a specific position. Unlike most staffing companies, we try to get to know our candidates outside the scope of the immediate placement opportunity so they will be happier long-term. Our process, unfortunately, takes a little longer than others. It takes a lot of planning, coordination, (and a little bit of chaos) behind the scenes but we've found that this methodical approach meets the needs of our people and our clients. We have reviewed the feedback of your interviewing experience with our team and have already taken steps to address some of the improvement opportunities you’ve highlighted. Candidates like you who made it through to the final in-person interview with our executives are very strong technically and any software company would be lucky to have you on their team. Thank you for considering Callibrity and we wish you the best of luck in your career journey.
