      The only thing worse than jumping through hoops for big tech is jumping through hoops for a company hoping to emulate big tech (without any actual knowledge of the processes or why they are in place or how they help you hire with confidence). I completed a recruiter screen, lead screen and completed a 6-hour day of loops with questions wholly irrelevant to the new job role that was outlined to then be informed that the company wanted to change the type of role they were hiring for and weren't sure what they needed anymore. Absolute waste of time, and - worst of all - showed a company unwilling to think beyond its existing biases and practices to adapt to incorporate a new strategic role that it thought it wanted initially. The hiring manager also had no onboarding plans or clear idea of what the role would entail and believed the person hired would define it - but none of the interviewers were receptive to strategic approaches outside of their domains. Interviews also showed a company deeply divided between the historic entertainment divisions and newer digital spaces - and an implicit acceptance of silos and decisions made from above, behind closed doors. Worst of all, interviewers spoke poorly of previously employed individuals and minimized their work. From the time between screening and lead managers to the full day loop, the people discussed had been disposed of/fired as 'lower performers' and the interviewers seemed to acknowledge this a badge of honor.
