I exchanged e-mails with the company contact and submitted my portfolio. Jason described the style of his current project and mentioned its stage. Then it turned a bit more into the project discussion v.s. a job offer discussion and we decided that it would make more sense meeting at the job site the next day to see how we would both benefit from the collaboration. It appeared at the meeting that the company (contact) owner had no professional practice in construction/design business, even though posted a job offer on behalf of his company, but was an individual property owner looking rather for an emerging professional willing to apply school knowledge to practice v.s. learning trade from more skilled pros. It is a great experience but not exactly what is sounded like at first.
