Well, I should have known better than to go against ~100 glassdoor reviews that say basically the same thing. I thought, how bad could it actually be? If you have any self respect as a web developer or value your time, don't waste any of it trying to apply for a position here. I never write bad reviews, but I feel like I need to get this out to help future applicants. For starters, at no point did I actually speak to a real person. After I applied online, I received an automated email with code project instructions. Before I took the test, I did more research on the company and hesitated to follow through based on these reviews. I am also morally against doing coding projects for companies as they may just use your code for their benefit. To be fair, this test was nothing ground-breaking and I don't think they would have actually used any of my markup for their clients. The test itself is a link to a submission page with a timer and a set of instructions. They give you a .psd file of a generic landing page of a business that you're supposed to make a "pixel perfect" copy of using HTML/CSS. Sounds easy enough, but you only have an hour to do it. I considered it to be a fairly easy assignment, but definitely not possible to do it well within the hour limit so it took me longer. My issue was that these types of code reviews/projects/etc. that test the applicant's competency usually happen after at least an initial phone screen to allow both parties to gauge out if the company is a good fit vice versa. Just blindly assigning a project with 0 courtesy to even speak to a person and then ignoring to update the candidate on the status of the application is completely unprofessional. Which brings me to my next point. It has been well over a month since I applied and I have followed up on a regular basis. Every time I did, I received a generic response saying how they have not yet had a chance to grade the assignment and will get back to me when they do. How freaking hard is it to look at a index.html file and "grade" it. That being said, what determines a good candidate from a bad one based on this process?! There probably have been countless very talented applicants who were left out to dry because because they didn't fulfill arbitrary requirement. My advice: If you're going to waste people's time try to be more creative, or have the common courtesy to stop dragging the process out. A simple email saying you've hired someone else would suffice.

It's a 4 hour assessment before you even talk to a single person. Also, the amount of fake reviews here are crazy. At least do some research on what a normal human sounds like.

Company is a complete scam! Do not engage with the interview process. Part of the interview is to create a website based on a photoshop image. This isn't a generic website building test, this is you doing the work for their agency and building websites for clients. At the very least, they are using this code to implement into the websites for their clients. There is no job, you are free labor under the guise of a job offer. At no point in the interview process will you speak to a human face to face at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
