I sent in my application to CLEAR and received a response from HR within 2-3 days — this was a promising start! The HR person I emailed with scheduled a phone screen where they would call me (specifically pointed out) at a certain time. They never called, so I emailed them and got a vague response a couple hours later that was only slightly apologetic. I understand that things happen — so we emailed again and agreed on a time that we were both free. However, this individual didn’t reply to my time confirmation until 9 (!) days later. Rather than explaining anything, they tried to brush it off and say “sorry you and I had an issue connecting.” I was not happy, since I did everything right and was essentially ghosted for more than a week, and this explanation seemed to put some blame on me as well. Needless to say, I never responded to the HR recruiter again and probably dodged a bullet if this is any indication of CLEAR as a company. I could somewhat understand if this was for an hourly job, but not as a mid-level design job at their headquarters.

I had an initial screening phone interview that was a standard screen. Then, I had a second phone interview with the department lead. The second interview was brief and not structured.
