A recruiter from Chicago called me after I applied within several days and did an initial vetting. They asked basic questions on my resume and my current role before setting an initial phone interview with the VP Sales. The call with VP Sales was thorough and detailed, key questions revolved around the number of staff that I had run, what reporting tools and metrics did I assess team results by and what training and development tactics did I use. I asked several questions on what they were looking for and what the role would entail and he did a good job in answering and I felt that my background more than met with the role. Next stage was a skype video call with the founder and another VP which was a good way to meet and hear the growth and vision plan. Lots more personality questions were asked on this call than the other interview stages. I was asked to present past on boarding and training plans to which I had a face to face meeting scheduled for me to meet with the VP Sales in the office. We met and had an in depth discussion on my past roles and what they were looking for to drive hyper growth in the NYC office. We ended up then going for lunch and had a more personable discussion and we shared our upbringings and family stories. All in all a good process and looking forward to hearing back to see if I got the role.

Lots of questions about real management experiences and reporting. Be prepared to answer with examples as I was probed several times on how I would deal with certain scenarios.

Phone interview conducted from Chicago. No structure. Don't think interviewer was prepared. I was just left to fumble through my resume and previous work experience with no question direction.

Interviewer was (really) hung up on the dollar value of the products I was previously selling, when it had no relevance to the position at-hand. Either your experienced and qualified to do the job, or you're not.

We are very focussed on hiring sales professionals who have sold high value B2B deals over the phone and face to face. Maybe we didn't do a good enough job of emphasizing the importance of that in relation to the role itself. We will continue to refine that and thank you for bringing it forward.
