2 tech stages. The first is a call with a senior backend engineer. The only question was about debugging slow queries. The call was only 10 minutes long.
The on site interview involved 15 minutes of general tech questions, and an hour of “pair programming”. There is no pairing element, and it’s just coding on a TV screen whilst 2 engineers critique every line. I found this incredibly off putting and didn’t perform, making some basic mistakes which I felt was from the pressure created in the interview, and wasn’t a true reflection of my skill set.
2 further tech tasks involved writing an SQL query, and finding the bugs in a piece of code shown to you in the interview.
