Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Busabout (Bondi) en oct 2019

      Entrevista

In order to apply you had to fill out a 1000-1500word questionnaire detailing your public speaking ability, why you want to be a guide, what qualities you think a good guide should have, previous travel experience and experience in leading groups, and your European history knowledge. Some questions were Yes/No, others had a word limit. As well you needed to attach your CV, cover letter and references (they aren't contacted without your knowledge). Once accepted you are sent an email detailing the Group Interview whereabouts, time, and how the interview process will go. You have to confirm that you have received your acceptance and whether you will attend the interview. 2 weeks prior to the group interview you are given a topic - you are to prepare a 3minute speech/presentation to determine how well you are able to research and retain facts, whilst publicly presenting yourself in an informative and entertaining manner. You also need to re-confirm that you have received your topic and if you are still attending. For the actual interview they start you off with a quick quiz to test your knowledge of the company and European history. You are given 5 minutes for this - quite a few people at my interview weren't able to finish all questions in time. There is about 20 other interviewees and a panel of 4 interviewers. After the quiz everyone must perform their speeches - you are not called out in order it is handed over to the interviewees to get up when they want. Some of the topics included - Oktoberfest, Sziget Festival, Napoleon, Davinci (some where more about history, some were about events) Then you are sent on an "amazing race" - they take everyone outside and you take a random question out of an envelope. No one can take their phone with them and you are given 30minutes to go out and find the answers. Not everyone has to present their findings they just call up a a few people at random. Some questions were "where would you find the closest bar", "explain Sydney transport to someone who has never been to Sydney before", "where is the nearest public parking". Next you are given a rooming task. They give you a hypothetical list of names, birth dates, and genders and a few rooms to allocate them to. You are given 5minutes to allocate each name to a room (most people put names together based on gender/age - but we didn't get any feedback regarding this). After that you are given a presentation about what the company offers to travellers and later another presentation about what the job will entail and what you will get out of it. After this you are called out into the hallway one by one, and you are told whether you have been offered a single interview and to come back after lunch, or whether you have been unsuccessful. They do not tell you why if you are unsuccessful.
