Initial recruiter screen - talk about experience and the company plus the next steps - was advised there was no LeetCode style questions Two 1:1 sessions with live coding The live coding questions were relatively simple but both rounds focused heavily on Concurrency and Threading - when asked if this was a problem faced in the app - the interviewers both advised that they had an abstraction to prevent the problems they were asking - which seemed pretty silly given the focus. Despite the recruiter advising there was no LeetCode style questions, was given a Tree style question with 5 minutes left of the interview. Slipped up with a couple of items in the sessions but got to the correct answers when talking through with interviewer, these were minor seemingly unimportant questions (frame vs bounds etc) however the feedback noted I didn't get these right first time so was a pass. Also this was done in coderpad so the items that you would usually get for free such as auto completion for or compiler warnings were not there, so @ escaping etc if you missed that in the real world would just be added via a prompt, but missing it in coderpad (and then correcting) meant a fail Seemed like a cool company to work for, but the interviewers felt very gate keeper like given that they expect correct answers first time on things that would be minor issues and easy to resolve when actually doing real work The recruiter provides a feedback session after, however he did not seem to really make any notes about any of the above feedback, genuinely did not seem to care and felt like it was just going through the motions

There was a Hackerrank test, then 2 Skype interviews about platform and language. The final was on-site with 2 iOS leads. We also talked a bit about platform and then started the System Design section. The feedback is where things started to go terribly wrong. I've been told, that I'd receive feedback in 2 days (I was told the exact date). I've heard nothing on that date and asked recruiter about feedback. Recruiter told me another EXACT date, and I've also had no feedback on that date. Only on the next day I got a small message saying that I didn't pass. The message only stated that I struggled with some 'basic' questions without any details. I can't imagine how did I make it to the finals without knowing some `basic` questions. The engineers at Badoo are just great and amazing, however recruitment could be much better.

It's Skype interview from London office. It's the first stage of the hiring process. I am amazed by how the interviewer is so helpful for the interview process. Before this first stage, I had conversation with the interviewer about 3 weeks ago. So they really want us to be ready for the interview.
