It seemed like a good/promising interview, and I was told I would hear back with an answer in a certain amount of time. I sent a thank you note, which went unanswered, and then another follow-up email after a couple of weeks, but I was ultimately ghosted. A simple, generic, copy-and-paste rejection email stating, "Unfortunately, we have decided to move forward with other candidates for the role. Thank you for your interest and for taking the time to interview with us" would have sufficed. However, I think getting ghosted was actually a blessing in disguise because the people I was interviewed by brought up that they experience "the usual amount of turnover as any other place," unprompted, so that's something to keep in mind if you're thinking of applying. Also, if you're just starting out in your career, keep in mind that all of your references must be people you've known for 3+ years, which severely limits one's references. And be prepared to handwrite all of their information and everything else on your application because building blocks has not embraced the miracles of modern technology for submitting applications.
