I interviewed for a Senior Front-End position at Brightflag. The process included an initial technical interview with the Front-End Lead, followed by a second conversation with both the Front-End Lead and another team member. Both interviews were professional, friendly, and technically engaging. I felt the discussions went well, and the conversations were constructive and respectful. However, I later received feedback that I was rejected due to a “stated disinterest in TypeScript,” which was surprising and disappointing. During the interviews, I clearly communicated that although my previous role primarily used JavaScript with React, I have been actively learning and working with TypeScript for several months and fully recognize its importance in modern development. At no point did I express disinterest — in fact, I emphasized the opposite. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding during the conversation. While I respect the company’s emphasis on strong TypeScript expertise for a senior role, I believe the feedback did not accurately reflect what was discussed. Overall, the interviewers were professional and the conversations were positive, but the decision-making process and feedback felt somewhat inconsistent with the discussion that took place.
