The interview process I felt fit the job. I had a phone interview with a recruiter who then also sent me a "take-home" excel test. I then had an onsite interview with the hiring manager and another recruiter, had to do another excel test and a basic knowledge test.

Of all the interview processes I completed from start to finish in the month of August (which was about 8 including Braintree), Braintree's took the longest and was by far the most convoluted and confusing. I started most of my interview processes later than I did with Braintree and completed them earlier, and of the ones that required personality or skills assessments, similar to Braintree, I was only asked to prove my ability once, whereas Braintree had a take-home Excel test, a Wonderlic test, an in-person Excel test, and a credit card processing knowledge test. Truthfully, the many assessments you're required to take by Braintree for what Glassdoor seems to confirm is a relatively entry-level role is a major turn-off, especially because I would have been entering the company as someone with multiple years of professional experience and is only "behind" because I'm making a career change. My recommendation to Braintree is to simplify the process and exhibit more trust in the abilities of your candidates. You're going to lose out on great people either because they're snatched up by another employer who was quicker to act or because candidates are turned off by the fact that you don't trust them to speak to their abilities truthfully.

How would you describe what we do at Braintree to someone who had never heard of us?
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with our interview process. We've taken a lot of time and given careful thought to cultivate the interview process for each team. We do our best to assess all candidates fairly and find these tools effective. The Account Management role is a complex and unique one and we don't view it as entry level so we'll do our best to make that more clear moving forward. Thank you again!
Everyone I spoke to was very nice and easy to talk to. I went through several different rounds of interview- a lot of waiting. It was a good experience but unfortunately I did not have the background they were looking for.
