I first heard about Bold Commerce from somebody I knew here in Winnipeg, while I was still in the UK. I had a look at the Bold Commerce careers website and was instantly really excited, as I knew this was a company that I would fit in really well. I knew that Bold get a lot of applications for roles that they have at the company and also knew that I would have to do something to stand out from the crowd. I decided to contact a donut shop in Winnipeg and have a message encoded and iced onto the donuts. The message was an encoded link to a website with my resume and cover letter. I know Bold Commerce really must have appreciated the creative way I made contact and as soon as the donuts arrived and the message was decoded I received an email from Bold saying they loved the donuts and would like to offer me an interview online. This was a great first contact with a representative from HR and a senior developer. After the online interview I flew to Winnipeg and had a face-to-face interview with various members of the Bold hiring team, including the CTO and co-founder Eric. After the panel interview, I attended a pair programming exercise with one of the Bold team. The whole experience lasted between 2-3 hours. After the onsite interview I received a job offer quite quickly, which I accepted.
