The recruiter was professional, responsive, and clearly explained the process. Communication and scheduling were smooth.
However, the first technical interview was disappointing. I went in expecting a standard DSA focused round, but the discussion felt more like a low level design exercise without that being clearly communicated in advance. This mismatch made it difficult to align expectations during the interview.
Additionally, the interviewer’s expectations were not clearly articulated. It often felt like there was a specific approach in mind, but it wasn’t communicated, turning the interaction into a guessing exercise rather than a collaborative problem-solving discussion.
There were also instances where standard approaches (e.g., commonly used data structures and algorithmic techniques) did not seem to align with the interviewer’s expectations, which added to the confusion.
Overall, despite feeling that I performed reasonably well given the ambiguity, the experience lacked clarity, structure, and constructive engagement. The process would benefit from better alignment on interview format and clearer communication during technical discussions.
