Recruiter reached out and setup a 30mins with HM.
HM was receptive to my past experience but eventually I got rejected.
Below are the red flags from the interview:
First, I felt it all came down having experience in a domain that was not even on the job posting.
Second, the HM asked in what areas of the job do I consider myself an EXPERT. I consider myself a growth oriented person and there are always new things to learn on a day to day basis.
My hunch is they wanted a PM who could come in start firefighting from day 1, which is a sign of poor team culture

Recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, behavioral loop (STAR model), and XFN conversation (3.5 hours total interview time). This format is standard in Tech/FinTech. You need well-thought-out STAR examples that are relevant.

Give an example of managing a project cross-functionally.
Give an example of difficulty in executing a project.
Relatively straight forward, standard recruiter screen talking about salary expectations, tell me about yourself and experience, take home and four rounds of onsite interview followed by offer/no offer. One of the rounds is a HM pitch for the role and to answer any questions that you may have about Square and the role.

Started with a phone call with a recruiter, then a conversation with the hiring manager and lastly a four-part technical interview. The entire interview process was fairly efficient and took about four weeks.
