Entrevista
I applied online after reading the description about a Front-End position that directly matched my skills and years of experience. The recruiter called me and we had a great conversation about the role. It matched exactly what I've been working on at other companies. Something that stood out to me and they kept promoting that their interview process isn't like other companies and it's more about learning about your skills and not solving crazy PhD type problems.
I did a tech screen which was a pair programming interview. I was asked to build a game called Ken-Ken which I had never heard of before. The interviewer had a hard time explaining the rules of the game and tried to break it down in very very small bits of information.
At some points I felt like I was going too fast, thinking too far ahead, for the interviewer to handle and they kept bringing me back down saying solve just this one small part.
The interview was an hour yet they expected me to build a game that I have never heard of using very little description. In a way I could say this is how work is, but usually you have a little more time to design a Feature or Epic, not one hour.
I would have been better if the game was built but with some missing functions or something to debug, especially for a Front-End position.

Do you know what Ken-Ken is? We're going to build Ken-Ken
Smooth and professional. In each round of interview, there are two interviewers present to avoid bias. All of the interview questions are conducted in online pair-programing software. really good interview experiecne, would recommend this company to anyone who values culture and respective environment.

Had a phone call with a recruiter then went on to a pair programming session with two Square engineers.
Question was a javascript problem on codepen. It wasn't too difficult but my time was eaten by searching up vanilla js dom manipulation as I've mostly worked with frameworks. Really wish that was made clear before the interview so I could of brushed up on that.

Talked to a recruiter then had a technical interview with an engineer over codepen. I thought this interview was extremely fair and enjoyable. They give you a small code base to debug as well as build new features. Interviewer provided helpful tips when needed. It's refreshing to see a company attempt to step away from the useless white boarding algorithms.
