      Entrevista

Was a very pleasant interview process. Fairly standard questions. The people I interviewed with were all very friendly. Due to Covid these were all phone interviews. I believe I chatted with about four different executives.

      Entrevista

Worst HR process ever. I am first contacted via phone by "HR#1" a jr HR staffer. She calls to set up a phone screening for the following week (+7 days). We set call date/time. I call. She's not there. I call a couple more times and finally leave a vm. She calls back 90 minutes later - no apology, simply says she was "with her boss"... We do the phone screen which takes 2 minutes and HR#1 then sets up an in person interview for the following week. (+14 days). This is her "only availability". In order for me to attend I have to leave a family vacation and return to Manhattan. I need a job and do it. 7 pm the night before the interview I get a vm from her saying she needs to cancel as she won't be in the office the next day. "Please call me to reschedule". What?!?!?! I won't/don't call her back. 3 weeks go by and I finally get a return call on a Thursday asking if I'm still interested and can I come in tomorrow. I was not able to come in next day and set a date/time for the following Tuesday. On Monday I email her to confirm meeting details. She emails back after 6 pm and states a different time (i.e. 8 am vs. 9 am). On Tuesday I don't want to miss the appointment and I show up for 8 am. She's not there. It obviously a 9 am and a typo on her end. I return to the security desk at 8:55 am and am shown to reception. And wait and wait and wait. Finally at 9:20 am "HR#2" comes for me. She's an MD in the departure and I'll first meet w/ her then HR#1. Okay. Problem - there is no place to meet. No conference room has been reserved and we don't go to HR#2s office. Instead we spend 20 minutes on 3 different floors looking for an empty conf room. Finally we find one on the HR floor - we actually pass HR#2's office - it's empty... We use a "corner" office that is under full renovation. No construction work is being done but there is floor to ceiling plastic up and all over the floor (painting?). We use this odd space. HR#2 asks 1 question that I barely finish answering and then hops up to leave - she's late for her 9:30 am call but she'll return at 10 am. HR#1 will meet w/ me in the meantime. HR#1 arrives and is very junior. Her interview skills are entry level. Questions are basic. She spends most of the time talking about her own recent transition into BlackRock from another firm. Just before 10 am HR#1 leaves me in the construction zone and says HR#2 will return at 10 am. I wait, and wait, and wait. At 10:20 am HR#1 returns and says HR#2 is "stuck" on a call and can't return but HR#2 does want to continue our conversation and will be in touch. As this is the end of the interview I ask the standard questions re: hiring timeline. HR#1 has no idea. Red Flag: during my brief conversation w/ HR#2 and HR#1 - their descriptions of the role and responsibilities were vastly different. One said this was supporting a large group 40+, the other said small group of people 5 or less. When asked about the culture and needs of the group - HR#1 could not say as she'd never met anyone in this department. Post interview I emailed both HR#1 and HR#2 and offered to meet again (or via phone) to continue our conversation. I never ever heard anything from either. This was the worst interview and process I've ever been on. I'm a professional with 15 yrs of executive service and this was the pits. If HR is the front door to any company - this house is a mess. They failed in organization and professionalism. Grade: F
