Entrevista
I've been in big corporate for many years and I want to try things different. That's why I gave it a try when this company reaches to me via LinkedIn even I never hear it before.
Well, the interview was pretty smooth and easy. I have been quickly notified I was doing well in the interview and they are interested in my background. The strange thing is they never propose a detailed offer in several follow-up phone calls till I have been invited to their office again to have chats with their executives. During the visit, I have been told the paycheck from my previous job is way beyond their acceptable line (to be honest, my salary package is quite common for a solid developer with ~8 years experiences in US). Well, I got some numbers which is ridiculous for me and my family - I have to say the option side was disappointed too but it is expected because the company has more than 60 employees now.
One thing caught my attentions is the group of persons who interviewed me are really of low quality engineers compared to other startups in Seattle area. That is not a surprise to me after I saw their average salary from Glassdoor, what type of "developers" they could get if they only want to pay ~80K per year?! They should move outside of US to get their cost down.
I feel bad for the time I waste on this company.

Applied online, directly on their website. Recruiter contacted me and we had an initial phone call. After that another 1 hour long with the Frontend Engineering manger. It was an Ok call, he explained about the role, and their products, and features probably too much and very unnecessary to dig into it too quickly as I was getting bored. I understand he wanted to get familiar with the product but it was just too much information and I was not going to remember all or be so all over it on the phone. He said he would follow with a take home test, pretty easy. I got the test, returned it back in 2-4 days and after a week recruiter got back to me saying "They are moving with another candidate" oh well just a waste of time.

Not much, he was talking all the time, he only asked if I knew scrum and asked about my previous experience.

I got a call from a recruiting agent and submitted my resume. Following week I got a take home test.
After clearing the take home test, I got a call for an interview onsite with their engineers. There were 2 rounds - first round is to solve a DS problem (medium difficulty). Honestly I did not have enough time to brush up the basic concepts (learnt 10 years back during my undergrad). I did fairly well to come close to the solution with a help of some hints given.
The second round was system design and I did well here (played my strength and experience).
In the end, I didn't get the offer!
Advise to the interview panel: Consider candidate's experience and competency before devising an interview. If I were in the interview panel, I would have relaxed a bit on the DS algo coding round and focused on testing the candidate's skills based on their experience.
