What would be the steps you would take into making the following system more scalable.
Simple php application running on top mysql database suffers from too many writes. What steps would you take in order to solve this problem.

Entrevista
I applied for the software engineer position at MessageBird in Amsterdam. My interview pipeline took around 9 weeks (including new year holidays).
The steps were as follows:
HR screening
General technical
Live coding
System design
VP of engineering (Behavioral)
CTO
Details of each interview were pretty much the same as other reviews for this company. My recruiting HR was really helpful. He sent a detailed description about the next interview each time and also scheduled several short meetings with me during my pipeline to inform me about the next steps.
Additionally, there was a background check after receiving the official offer, which took around 2.5 more weeks. (This is pretty standard for mid-to-large-size companies.)

Most questions were like industry-standard interviews.
Due to respect to the company and interviewers, I am not gonna disclose exact questions.
Recruiter screening over the phone, programming exercise on Hacker Rank, pair programming interview via video call, design interview via video call, culture fit interview via video call. Did not pass the pair programming interview.
