I applied for this position in the Sydney office, and the HR Rep in Austin emailed to organise an initial phone screen and I gave her my availability. Even though I was applying for a job in a office in a completely different timezone, she didn't seem to factor this in and I woke up the next day to an email stating I had been scheduled in for an interview on the same day.
Not a great start, but I continued with the phone screen anyway. The questions she asked were quite straightforward, with some situational ones thrown in, I assume to see how I would think on my feet when dealing with customers. There was nothing too surprising.
She also let me know the standardised salary for the job at the end of the phone call, which was lower than my stated range. I asked if there was any flexibility in the salary, she said that there wasn't but she could look into the full benefits package, and seemed to try to half-heartedly sell it to me.
She also advised that there were three or four more rounds after this, the next of which would involve a skills test, and then more in-person or Skype interviews. I let her know that before we move any further forward I'd need more information on the full benefits package, since the salary was lower than what I was looking for. She said she'd look into this and get back to me.
Big surprise, she never bothered to get back to me. Three weeks later I received an automated email thanking me for my application but advising that the position had since been filled. The best part? The email invited me to reply with any questions, but it came from a no-reply email address.
Pretty poor experience from start to finish. I've since accepted a job elsewhere, but probably wouldn't bother with this company in future because of their inconsiderate recruitment process.

You receive an email to setup your 15min phone screen with the recruiter. Once you get on the phone they will ask you questions related to the position, including initial compensation and job responsibilities.

First, there was a phone screen with a company recruiter. Then, I received a link to a quiz which tested information about websites, security, and basic HTML. It was simple, but there were a couple I needed some (permitted) googling for. I was invited onsite, and met with two team members, who interviewed me. They were professional, friendly, and informative, and I enjoyed it. I received an offer days later, which I was very, very grateful for (the perks at BigCommerce are amazing) but decided to go with another offer I also received.
