Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Bear Robotics (Redwood City, CA) en oct 2021

      Entrevista

I applied online and received an untimed online assessment. Which had 3 coding questions and two questions related to what projects have you worked on recently etc. Medium Leetcode type questions. After the clearing of this test, there was an initial phone screen with a Team Lead. Basic questions related to the resume, past experience, and company overview. The next step was a panel interview with three rounds. The first was with a Team Lead of another team. He asked rapid-fire kinds of questions involving various topics KF, EKF, SLAM, Particle filter, Machine Learning, Path Planning, Monte Carlo, ROS, Sensors, CS-related, etc. And last part was a kind of derivation to determine the turning radius of a robot/vehicle. This part did not go well for me as I was not expecting this and the interviewer rushed it a little as he was reaching his 45-50 mins mark for ending the interview. He was trying to help but instead, it was not helping as before I could come up with anything he would write something and ask me the next step or write something incorrectly and ask me to rectify it. It kind of broke my thinking process. The next was a coding round with a senior engineer. Two questions were asked. One was easy. I was able to solve it with min help and in the end, he suggested one change to optimize it. The second question was related to distance transform in path planning. I had worked with distance transform earlier but never determined it by myself unless it was theoretical purposes. I felt someone who has not worked on end-to-end path planning applications earlier would know the solution to it. And coming up with the solution in the interview was a little difficult. The interviewer at the end did explain the solution. I was left with the last round but was stopped before that and said they would not continue. It felt weird to me. This got me thinking what was was their expectation for a junior-level role. It felt irrespective of your robotics knowledge/experience or willingness to learn they were looking for someone with great coding skills.
