When auditioning for a ballet company, it is unlike traditional interviews. Typically, the dancer submits a DVD with content demonstrating skill and ability in a 2 minute preview of performances. Then, if granted the opportunity to audition, the dancer takes class either with the company or in an open audition with other auditioners. During the process, individuals are either dismissed or selected to continue. Sometimes after the class is over, there may be a choreographic, improv, or other demonstration and comprehension of skills.
