Upon submitting my resume, a BNSF HR recruiter emailed, requesting a phone interview. The phone interview was scheduled and completed promptly, and lasted about 30 minutes. The HR recruiter was very pleasant. We discussed my resume and the nature of the position that was being advertised. I was asked the generally expected interview questions, and the recruiter was quite willing to answer the more in depth questions I posed in return.
Account Manager Level 1 appears to be primarily a boiler-room type telemarketing position. Much of the day would be spent making outbound cold calls to quote or fill transport loads. How much time might be spent actually managing accounts wasn't clear; it seemed more oriented towards a multitude of brief, transactional calls.
