Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 1 día. Acudí a una entrevista en BBC Group (Edina, MN) en may 2016

      Entrevista

Everything seemed fine to start with, but that was in the lobby talking with the receptionist. When the person came out whom I was having the interview with, things were still fine, but the pace quickened dramatically. We exchanged pleasantries, then he asked what I expected from my next employer. Before the interview I had done my due diligence, and went to their website to learn what I could. The two things I found were they dealt with fiber optics and were big on "integrity, in all aspects of their job". So, I went with integrity, as my answer for what I expect from my next employer. This little question had a lot to do with the result of the interview. Turns out the customer service position was actually a sales position. I was fine with that. I've been out of the work force for some time and just wanted to get my feet wet, but I was eventually going to get back into sales so it was inevitable. This is where the fiber optics comes in. The sales position was for Century Link's new high speed internet to existing customers. My next question was , I felt a simple one. I asked how are the leads generated. The reply came, they are provided by Century Link. Yes, of course they are, they're existing customers. I would like to know if I am calling them or are they calling me? This is where the double talk started. I kept hearing that the leads are provided by Century Link in different ways till he finally ran out of spiel. Bottom line, the contact point is the existing customer's front door. Wish I could tell you more, unfortunately the conversation lasted only another 15 seconds. While I was gathering my things, he was was explaining that if I was interested there were two more interviews I would need to go through. We won't have to go through that, I politely stated, and left. Omission is still misleading, the more interviews you put to a position doesn't make it a more desirable position, and why would you want to hire someone that would fall for those types of tactics? The only benefit that came from the experience is that I now can speak intelligently about the features and benefits of fiber optics over coaxial cable. I didn't even get to use that. Maybe it will come in handy down the road. Good luck to everyone.
