The hiring process was one of the most disorganized and frustrating experiences I’ve encountered:
After being passed over for the role initially, I was contacted again to reconsider my candidacy. This gave me hope that they saw potential in my experience.
A call was scheduled with the CEO, but they didn’t show up, requiring a reschedule.
When the CEO finally joined the call, it was clear they hadn’t reviewed my background or prepared for the discussion. The call was abruptly cut short, with the CEO claiming we had already spoken and providing no opportunity to discuss the role, ask questions, or showcase my qualifications.
After the brief and dismissive conversation, I waited a week with no follow-up, only to reach out myself and be told they were moving forward with other candidates.
This process left me feeling undervalued and disrespected as a professional. If this is reflective of how the company operates internally, I’d have serious concerns about their organizational structure and leadership.
Advice to Management:
Respect candidates’ time and effort. If you choose to re-engage someone after previously passing, ensure your process is thoughtful and intentional. Leaders should show up prepared for interviews and provide candidates with a fair chance to engage and present their qualifications. A dismissive and unprofessional approach not only reflects poorly on the company but also risks alienating talented individuals.
