Step 2a: If that conversation goes well, you talk with one final General Manager who tells you that they aren’t interested in your resume, and they want to learn about you outside of your resume. In retrospect, I realized this is because they want to know how much time you dedicate to your life outside of work. Then they ask “how much do you want to make?” I was told that if I had said anything under $100k they would’ve walked out of the room. Finally they tell you that they never offer the job on the spot because “this is something you need to discuss with your loved ones/family, because we’re going to be pulling you away from them a lot. You’ll be working at least 40 hours of overtime a month, and the turnover rate for new agents is really high. There are very stressful days, and this isn’t a job for everyone, and I want to make sure you’ve taken the time to consider if this is something you want to do.
