It was a cluster!! they have a contractor who handles all recruiting. I was approached by the recruiter via linkedin. although it was a bit scrappy I wasnt thrown off because I have start up experience. I actually loved the recruiter, she was honest and provided feedback very quickly. I vibed so well with the hiring manager and truly thought I found my place. We had tons of great convos and did a practical question/project step in the process. It was all going well until I met the team. content and ABM. content guy was quiet, you could tell he doesnt lead anything, hes more reactive. and I thought he was nice, easy to talk to. didnt feel like an interview at all. the AMB manager was late to my interview, very standoffish, asked some odd questions. there was no structure to the call. It went over the 45 minute slot and after it I was still energized, could look past the ABM manager. I thought maybe shes protective, wants to make sure this person is serious etc. anyway I got a call from the recruiter the next day saying they werent moving foward and the reason was what really stood out to me. Apparently the content and AMB girl didnt think I was energized by the role and I talked too much. LOL! I was so taken back and ultimately shattered for a moment, then realized that wasnt where I was supposed to land. and BLESS whoever has to report into that AMB girl.
