Had a phone call with a recruiter from Attivo on April 3rd. The phone call went great, and I answered all of his questions. Then a week went by with complete silence, so I sent a follow-up email and never received a response. At that point, I assumed the process was over.
Then, on April 29th — almost a month later — I received another email. There was no acknowledgment of my follow-up email; instead, the recruiter simply congratulated me on moving to the next round and asked about my availability for an interview with an Accounting Manager.
I scheduled the interview, and again, it went very well. I answered all of the accounting questions correctly and felt confident in the conversation. About a week later, the recruiter reached out again saying I had advanced to the next stage: a 60-minute Excel financial exercise. Someone from the team called the next day to walk me through it.
I completed the workbook and returned it the next business day. The exercise involved a lot of manual Excel formulas, but nothing outside of my experience. I was 100% confident in my work when I submitted it.
A few more days went by with radio silence until I finally received a generic rejection email from the recruiter stating they would not be moving forward with my candidacy. No feedback was provided, even after I followed up asking for clarification or insight into the exercise.
It’s truly baffling to invest that much time into multiple interviews and a financial exercise, only to receive a generic rejection email with zero feedback. The communication throughout the process was disappointing and unprofessional.
