I was contacted by a recruiter via Hired. We had an initial screening where we talked about the role, the company, and myself. We agreed to have an initial informal interview with an engineering manager & one of the front-end developers I would be working with. It was a general interview where we discussed my skills & career so far
I was given a code challenge to complete, which was designed to test my core skills. Possibly one of the hardest code challenges I've ever done, but I was given no time limit and the opportunity to complete it in my own time
I was given good feedback, and invited to the final round of interviews. First interview was where we discussed my code challenge solution, and a quick pair programming exercise to improve my solution. Second interview was with two tech-leads, and we also went through a pair programming exercise and discussed technical architecture and development processes. Third and final interview was a "values interview", an informal meeting with two non-technical employees to discuss culture fit.
Received glowing feedback from all interviews, and was given a non-negotiable offer which was slightly below my expectations, but still a good salary. I accepted it, as the company have shown to be far more technically impressive, enthusiastic, friendly & welcoming than the other companies I was interviewing with.
