      Entrevista

      They took us out to Titletown Restaurant in Green Bay, WI to meet some of the previous corporate trainees and a few of our interviewers. The following day we started at 8:30 and went over a briefing and then had multiple rounds of interviews depending on your major. I also was part of a skills assessment that tested on basic concepts in excel, powerpoint, and word.

      Entrevista

      I had sent in an application through their website. I received an e-mail asking for a phone interview and after calling in to schedule one was promptly given a time for the next morning. Their HR recruiter from their corporate office in Green Bay WI called me a few minutes after the appointed time. She gave me a brief overview of the position, and it sounded like a great opportunity. However, she then asked one of the most cliche questions, and due to my honest response the interview was immediately cut short. She asked what my GPA was, and when I responded with a 2.9 she said that they require a minimum of a 3.0 and that their most successful candidates have a 3.6. I was slightly taken aback by how quickly she dismissed me. I had no opportunity to tell her about my relevant experience, why I would make a great candidate, or any of my accomplishments. For the sake of your organization I sincerely hope that you read this review, and realize that basing an entire person's competency on their GPA is not only a barbaric practice, but seriously handicapping your organization's potential. This may be entirely anecdotal, but some of the most hardest working, business savvy, well-rounded individuals I have ever met not only include people with low GPA's, but people with absolutely no college experience at all. I was extremely prepared for this interview and had tons of examples and things to bring up about myself, but was ultimately unable to. You guys lost out, not me. Broaden your horizons. Seriously.
