      Entrevista

I wish I had read the reviews on Glassdoor before wasting my time and money preparing for this interview, and taking a $100 round trip cab from Portland to this awful place in Vancouver. I walked out of this interview. I have never done this in my life. I felt extremely uncomfortable, it felt adversarial, and they are clearly uncomfortable with women. I'm so glad I left when I did. I left 10 minutes in, it was that bad. I just read a review of this company here on Glassdoor that really and truly sums it up: "very aggressive (uncomfortable) management." It's affirming and alarming to see that I'm not the only one who has been uncomfortable here. I pulled out my apple laptop for my presentation, and two of the 3 men in the room said, "oh I hate Apple computers." Yes, that's how my 10 minutes began. I was told that they were seeking expertise in the luxury market targeting women - my specialty - and in outlining the top tier clients I have had in luxury beauty, one of the interviewers, began laughing and joking, "oh, <one the the guys in the room's name> here, ha ha ha, ha ha ha, ha ha ha, ha ha ha he uses beauty products ALL the time." >>>It was an in-group, frat boy, locker room, boy's club vibe and in an immensely disrespectful tone. <<<<<<< Had I brought up a brand - or topic - that perhaps they use, I'm guessing something like boats, burgers or beer, well, perhaps they would have taken it seriously. THAT was the vibe. They needed my expertise 100% but did not make me feel respected or welcome at their business. I chose to go above and beyond and create content for the presentation as an example of how I could help grow their biz, but it was their failure as a company culture to welcome diversity or have the RESPECT to give me the platform to share my expertise. As the OP noted, "Steer clear--they 'work well together' and do not work well with others, period."

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

NOTHING. I was NOT given a chance in this extremely adversarial boys club environment to step through my presentation. Actually, while I was presenting my work, the interviewer interrupted, and in an aggressive, exasperated tone.......... ......asked his team member to explain the content marketing that I was presenting - text cards and other graphics that I prepared in advance - and copy that I took the time to pull from their marketing materials. I created these materials to do exactly that.... EXPLAIN and ILLUSTRATE....what I would do for them if hired. I said, "let me explain this to you," and I was talked over and talked around. In an interview. Big red flag.
