Entrevista
Such a terrible experience. After 12 years in the analytics and data engineering industry, two of the interview rounds are taken by people who have 5 & 6. months of work experience respectively.
- Phone call by hiring manager (1 hour)
-Face to face again by the same person (same questions what a wastage of time),
-DWH straight forward questions and sql.
- Analytics round ( This is purely accounting not analytics). Basically they will provide bunch of scenarios nd ask to calculate or do accounting. Surpringly, they call it analytics.
- One more Analytics round (Again no analytics, just asked what is your current projects)
- A presentation in front of a recent graduate who is few months in the industry.

The whole process was 5 rounds, including Recruiter Screen, Director Interview, VP Interview, and three rounds of Manger Interviews. One Tech Interview and one "logic" interview were included in the Manager rounds. I think one or two rounds could have been cut from the process. I found myself repeating myself during several of the conversations. However, the recruiter was very good about moving the process along fairly quickly.

Tech / Systems Designs interview involved mapping out a SQL database using several tables with Primary Key relations. Was then asked to query the database that was built. Core SQL competencies were sub-queries, GROUP BY and ORDER BY. Pretty easy stuff.

First I had a phone call with a recruiter. Then I had a hour long skype with the engineering manager. Then there were 3 more hour-long calls, one with each engineering team lead.
One of these calls was technical, where I described how I would design a database to store data about providers, claims, patients, etc. Then the interviewer asked me how I would write certain SQL queries given what I had designed.
Another call was business-oriented, where I was described how a doctor's office bills for services and I calculated some values. This was actually kind of interesting because it demonstrated how one billing scheme worked better than the other.
