First you do a take home assignment - build an example Rails app integrating some third party API. Then there's a call with two other engineers from the team. They never provided any feedback on the assignment. One of them joined late with no explanation and didn't have video on. Audio was poor as well. Then he kept interrupting me as I was trying to answer. He was doing that thing where he asks the same question repeatedly in slightly different wording, but not clarifying why the previous answer wasn't sufficient. Very badgering tone. The combination of no video for facial expression with poor audio quality made everything worse. They also asked one inappropriate question, and one of those silly puzzle questions that have zero correlation with job performance.

It was 4 steps. The first one I talked with the recruiter after this call team leader called me. In the third step, they sent me the assignment. Followup day I attend the last step that was 4 steps talking with a different team.
