      Entrevista

      Applied online. After a few days, received invitation to coding challenge. Sent some time to prepare for coding challenge. Coding challenge has medium-difficuly questions, time to finish is about 3 hours. (think of stuff like implementing a basic route planning algorithm, not easy, not difficult) Then after a few days, received another message with a link to a hellishly-long questionnaire, which the other candidates have already described in detail. Afterwards radio silence for weeks. Either they are just collecting data for some reason, or they are just one of those companies who make a sport out of stringing candidates along for months.

      Was selected to do an online programming test. Test had 4 questions with 3 hours to complete. I believe I did well on the first threee questions, the fourth stumped me. I figured it was a 'reach' type question that only a vanishingly small number of applicants would figure out. Four days after my submission got an automated rejection notice. No feedback on my performance. Generally speaking, it's not a great sign when a company puts the entire time/effort load on the candidates. So here's another negative experience to go with the others.

      Thank you for this feedback. I’m sorry that the process was frustrating to you. We have tried hard to build a hiring process that is both effective at matching our company with top senior engineers, while also feeling like an effective & efficient use of applicants time. The Codility test is a very small initial step in a multi-step process, which also includes an interview, written correspondence, & a larger 8-hour coding challenge. The last step, the 8-hour challenge, is crafted to match a real day of work for a senior engineer as closely as possible -- & is paid, in order to clearly demonstrate that we value candidates time. Clearly it is not a perfect process & we have more work to do to improve it, especially in the initial steps. We will continue working hard to improve our hiring processes.
