Entrevista
Applied online and within few days a recruiter responded with a cultural assessment test. Hour long phone interview with the supervisors and leads. First half on personal questions. Second half on technical questions on electrical engineering and some mechanical concepts. Simple if you know your stuff; be prepared for the questions. If passed this stage of interview, you go to the yards and see how you fit in. Did not get that far.

What's the difference between a diode and transistor?
I applied online.
I am a recent graduate as a Mechanical Engineering student and applied for Service Engineer role
After the online application, I was invited for a cultural fit assessment which is basically about 104 questions and I recommend finishing it in one sitting and with fair attitude in answering the questions. Plus don't forget the answer to the previous questions because some of them reappear to test consistency.
I passed the cultural fit assessment and I was invited for phone interview.
In the interview confirmation email I was given a phone number which I thought to be the number that I should expect a call from but at the time of the interview I did not get a call so I said let me try calling this number and it was actually a conference call number and a Pass Code to enter. This made me 5 minutes late to the interview and I WAS SO SURPRISED THAT I WAS NOT TOLD to just dial in for the interview. So minuted into the interview I was shaking my head because of the situation.
Diving into the interview: the interview includes 20 questions (10 personal and 10 technical)
First general information about the role is given and the 4 interviewers introduced themselves. Below are the exact questions asked so prepare for these questions and for those that resemble these:
Don't expect the phone interview to be a natural conversation. They will read a question to you as fast as they can and then EXPECT A DEAD SILENCE after that which can be a longer silence when try to you realize it. Me:uhhhh.... uhhhh... but YOU: Take a deep breath and start thinking already when the question is being READ to you think in the SILENCE and start answering.
Personal: (To determine how one basically think outside of the BOX, use real life experiences not generalizations)
DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE THAT MAKES YOU A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE?
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST DECISION YOU MADE IN YOUR LIFE? follow up WOULD YOU DO IT DIFFERENTLY?
WAS THERE A TIME THAT YOU CUT CORNERS ON SAFETY RULES?
WAS THERE A TIME THAT YOU HAVE SUBMITTED A WORK/PROJECT LATE?
Technical: (i took electronics class in college but was totally uninformed on what to expect in this interview. i don't know why the talent acquisition team follows this method as I can only think allowing candidates to prepare is only FAIR and therefore I am doing that here today)
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DIODES and TRANSISTORS?
HOW DO YOU USE OR ADJUST A MULTI-METER TO MEASURE AC SOURCE?
LIST 3 USES OF OILS IN MOTORS?
WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN Resistors, Current and Voltage?
WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CURRENT and VOLTAGE in MOTORS WITH Primary and Secondary winding? (explain what happens when one increase/decrease, and also what about the Power)
WHY AC MOTORS ARE PREFERRED THAT DC MOTORS?
Next step after a successful phone interview there will be a Yard visit and also an interview and assessment on how you will physically and mentally fit in for the position.
It would be a fair interview if more information was to be provided as to evaluate candidate based on fair preparation.
It is a great company and will be a great opportunity for you and therefore I say Good luck to you.
