The recruiter sent a list of questions to complete. Then a panel of interviews, back to back, was scheduled. The final round was with the department head. An interview coordinator set up the scheduled interviews, some with little notice. I contacted the recruiter two days later to follow up on the decision. He seemed annoyed to have received my call, only to call me with a different attitude several hours later. Team was interested in making me an offer. However, recruiter did perform due diligence to provide salary range for role, only to find out that team could not afford my salary range. I later received the generic letter, stating that they've moved on to other candidates who matches the skills that are a better fit for the role.
