Initial phone interview with recruiter. Recruiter asks questions about your qualifications, background, why you want to do the position, how you heard about it, and what makes you stand out from other candidates. Recruiter then goes over the specifications for the job, what the hiring manager is looking for, and the salary range. If you do well, the recruiter will let you know they are passing your information on to the hiring manager (will disclose the hiring manager's name if you ask) and the hiring manager will decide if they want to do another interview, and then the recruiter will contact you to schedule it. Currently, they are doing second interviews virtually.

Phone interview with HR. Then 2 panel interviews over zoom with 5 people on each call. The phone interview and the first round were typical and fairly easy. The last round was miserable. They asked questions for almost the full hour. Then I was told someone would let me know by the end of the week and no one reached out. I emailed and left a voicemail, did not get an answer. Eventually a month and a half later, I received an email that said my application had been rejected. Really frustrating process.
The interview process has multiple rounds, anywhere from 3-5 on average but can be more. It is a very long process but friendly interviewers. The process for me took several months

Many levels of interview. First a 15 to 30 minute interview with someone from HR at their main DC office. Then a panel interview by volunteers and some staff from the local office. Then another panel interview from the local office by administration. Then a second administration interview.
