I received a call out of the blue to discuss my possible interest in a position with the company. I thought this was odd, considering I haven't applied for anything recently, but I am looking for a new job so I didn't want to turn down any opportunity. He asked about my current job and why I am looking to move on before explaining what his company does. His explanation made it sound like the company mediates between management and unions. I wasn't able to make an interview that week, but the guy on the phone said he would call the following week. When he called back, he set up an interview for a couple days later and said he would email me all the relevant information about the interview. It sounded like a great opportunity, until I did some research. I was told I would be interviewing with a specific person, but looking him up on Google didn't turn up a whole lot, which was the first red flag--if this man manages this branch of such a big company, why is there no readily found information on him or what he does? Eventually, I was able to track down some reviews for people who have gone further in the interview process and I was not impressed with what they report. Every reports multiple people interviewing at the same time, a presentation to sell you on the company, and having to come back multiple times for later interviews. Should you get the position, you have to pay for your own training and your income is based on commission. Not only did this not sound like a career I would be interested in, but it was also different that what the initial call had led me to believe. I decided to email them to cancel my interview. That's when I read his email. He instructed me to "Walk into the building" (and here I thought I would just stand outside and shout my questions for them through a window) and reminded me to dress professionally. It felt a little insulting, as if I had no idea what an interview would require and wasn't intelligent enough to figure it out myself. That was the final straw for me.

The interview went well, I'm just looking for insight on what I'll be walking into starting this job. I had to add a review to be able to see others reviews, I will update as soon as I start.
