Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 días. Acudí a una entrevista en American Income Life (Fort Worth, TX) en jul 2016

      Entrevista

I answered an ad on Craig's List for a 'manager needed'. When I arrived I was brought back by a woman in the Ft Worth, Texas location who went on to explain that I would sit in a room with other applicants and learn more about the position. My red flags immediately went up but I thought I'd go along since I had already driven out so far. Another woman came in, BilliJo, who had horrible presentation skills (slow down and breathe!) who proceeded to tell us about her background and how they were basically looking for insurance reps to go out and gets employees to sign up from companies from which they were already affiliated. It's almost 100% commission - even though they give you $200 a week to 'get started' (which should cover your gas since you are expected to drive around using your own vehicle). After she left we all sat filling out paperwork and we began to discuss how we each answered separate ads and all of them were misleading. While the 'management' position would hold the promise of management later on (i.e. handling other recruits) it was, by no means, a real marketing management job. Others in the room answered customer service ads - and one of them worked for Dollar General ! I was applying for the same position as a person who worked the cash register at Dollar General. Did they even read my resume? My extensive background and management experience? It felt more like a pyramid scheme to me- and from start to finish felt like I was overly qualified even beyond the women who interviewed me. I thought to offer BilliJo some presentation skills tips but just wanted to get out of there. I politely informed them that I was overly qualified for such a position and wasn't much interested in a management position which paid me basically 100% commission (isn't that sales?) to drive around all day and go to people's private homes to get them to sign for life insurance. They also require a lot of time for the first couple of weeks of training and payment could take another month or so after that. I felt a bit insulted that they thought I would be interested in such a thing. There are many who would and they should stick with REAL advertising and expectations of jobs. When you start out in a dishonest way it only gives you an idea and taste for the company and people you could be working with down the line. Almost each person in the room was very disappointed and felt duped.
